A few years ago I was laid up and had the opportunity to watch a few reality court tv shows. The one that captured my attention was the NFL star Rae Carruth on trial for murder. He was accused of conspirer with co-defendant and thug Michael Kennedy to kill Carruths pregnant girlfriend. The motive was alleged to be that he didn't want to pay more child support. He already had a child by former girlfriend.

Court TV is one of the best reality court tv shows that takes you though the entire trial.

As the trial progressed Carruths defense attorney David Rudolf had the opportunity to cross examine Michael Kennedy. When Kennedy first took the stand I didn't believe a word he was saying. He kept repeating how reluctant he was to shoot the victim and how sorry he was. He is a career criminal and tough guy so I wasn't buying it. He was reported to have made the statement that he "hoped the bt..ch dies" as the victim was in the hospital fighting for her and her unborn childs life. Rudolf was doing a good job right up until the time he committed one of the biggest blunders I've seen on reality court tv shows in a long time. He asked a question he didn't already know the answer to.

This has got to be one of court tv most shocking moments. In his attempts to discredit Kennedy and show he didn't have any remorse he asked him to explain his "hope the bi..ch dies" statement. Without missing a beat Kennedy said he wasn't referring to the victim he had been referring to CARRUTH. I knew right then his story was true. End of story and Carruth was convicted.
