Becoming a Star with Reality TV Popularity |

I was watching MTV the other day and the Real World Awards came on. It really blows my mind that these people have been able to make a career out of living communally, partying and competing in challenges while being filmed. I am not sure if an award from the MTV’s Real World for “hottest character” can really be a high point on a resume but I am sure many of these people will indeed hold the awards close to their heart. Reality TV popularity has been steadily increasing and I don’t see it declining anytime soon.
Many of the people who are cast on the show have the same story of “their friends told them to audition and they made it.” I wonder if the youth of our nation is going to begin to dream about becoming a reality star instead of a formal actor. Reality TV popularity has changed the face of media because people are interested in how others different or similar to them live. The problem is that many of the youth related reality TV popularity does not promote anything further then partying. |
