Never before have we seen such reality TV popularity as we are seeing in this day and age. People have become trodden and bored with the realm of boring fictional TV shows (myself not included) and have voiced their desires to watch and see reality TV at its finest. However there are some things that just are not true about reality TV. To enlighten you to this prospect, here are some common facts about reality television.
Facts about reality television:
- Most dating reality TV shows are loosely scripted and after the show the matched couple rarely stays together
- Reality TV is only semi-real, for example in the hit show by MTV, “Jack Ass” their lawyers and producers commonly set up stores and places of the tricks first, paying them off and signing legal contracts not to sue
- Most of the time the only real reality TV shows you will see are ones that follow celebrities around during their life, such as Snoop Dog’s “Father Hood”
While the reality TV popularity will always be huge, just keep in mind that most of it is still just TV and therefore is created, not so much reality, rather created-reality.
