This is an excellent video explanation about the reasons for reality tv popularity. The man in the video obviously has a background in tv as he presents a very compelling speech about the facts about reality television and I could not agree more with what he has to say concerning the reasons for reality tv popularity. I personally do not watch any of the long list of reality tv shows because it is obvious the "contestants" are being used and made fools of by the producers of the show. I totally agree with this man on the video that the viewers of reality tv and tv dramas watch these shows because the shows create an "illusion" the viewer want to believe is how thing work in real life. This illusion comforts the tv viewer into feeling all is well in the real world when, in fact, this is not the case for many people. He also gets right to the root of the reality tv popularity when he speaks of the fact the shows are not in fact "reality" at all but a spicy way to keep viewers watching until the next commercial, the real reason reality tv and most all tv programming exists at all.
