I understand the reasons behind reality TV popularity, though I’m not a fan. One of the reasons for reality TV popularity is that most of us like to see unpleasant characters getting what thy deserve. The public loves it when the back stabber with a bad attitude is eliminated from the Big Brother house. Personally I find most reality TV dull. I have no desire to watch other people living their lives when I could be living my own instead.
The list of reality TV shows is extensive. You can see all kinds of characters doing all kinds of things. From the long list of reality TV shows there is only one that I watch with any regularity. In the late afternoon I sometimes watch Judge Judy as I am doing my exercises. I can relate to Judge Judy’s no-nonsense attitude and I derive pleasure from watching her deal with petty liars and fools. I think the real reason that I like to watch Judge Judy is that her manner of dealing with people reminds me very much of my late maternal grandmother. Judge Judy has character, and is therefore endlessly entertaining.
