list of reality tv shows, reality tv popularityNot ever traveling to another country and sitting down to watch international cable, I have no idea if reality TV popularity is as abundant as it is here. Americans suck up the long list of reality TV shows as they would a 64 oz slurpee from the convenient store. I am too a proponent of reality TV. I’m not talking about the scripted, staged stuff though; even though nowadays it is hard to tell one from another with studios vying for the highest ratings. My favorites have to do with car testing, martial arts, science shows and a look into the lives of random careers like clear cutting a forest out in Northern Oregon.

This is not to say I haven’t gotten a kick out of the more low brow list of reality TV shows. They are a guilty pleasure to just about everyone. Even after knowing 100 percent, the couple arguing on this new episode probably did not say all the things shown to be in a single night, in a single night it is still entertaining. What is it in our brains that make this kind of stuff so appealing?
