I used to work nights and so never had the opportunity or quite frankly the desire to watch those reality TV shows. The reality tv popularity and draw seemed to escape me. That is until I got laid off, started working as an independent contractor out of my home during the day and consequently had free evenings.

Now my list of reality tv shows that I watch faithfully has grown. It started with one show and gradually increased as one show ended and another started in it's time slot. When I first started watching these shows I could walk away and not miss a thing. Now you should see how I actually look forward to and plan my day around the airing times of certain shows.

Yes, reality tv popularity has risen in my household since my career change. The shows are not going to change my life or lead to anything earth shattering. For me the facts about reality television are these: it delivers a good break from the stresses of life and I have found them to be truly entertaining!
